State of Delaware Office of Pensions
Pursuant to the latest legislation signed by the Governor, House Bill 80 of the 151st General Assembly, has again enhanced the pension calculation for employee’s classified as Correctional Officers or Specified Peace Officers. For years of service before December 31, 2021, 2.45% of the final average compensation for years of service above 25 years and for years of service on or after January 1, 2022, 2.5% of the final average compensation for years up to 20 years, plus 3.5% for years of service above 20 years.
This legislation increases the employee contribution rate to 7% without the annual $6,000 exclusion of compensation.
The changes per this legislation are effective January 1, 2022.
