Post Retirement Increases

The State Employees’ Pension Plan does not include a provision for automatic increases to your monthly pension benefit once you retire.

From time to time, our State legislators may approve a benefit increase. Those increases are granted to retirees as specified in the annual budget act, and may vary in amount and effective date.

The Office of Pensions will update its retiree newsletters when an increase is granted.
